Policy Changes due to COVID-19

Tobyhanna Township is committed to balancing the welfare of our employees with the ongoing demand of government services. Therefore, the following policy changes are implemented immediately:

Township staff is available by phone and email Monday through Friday, 8:00AM – 4:30PM, but the Government Center is closed to the public. A dropbox is available at our front entrance for anyone remitting physical copies of items to the township, and any permits/other documentation will be mailed or sent by email.

In an effort to remain operational while abiding with the Sunshine Law, Tobyhanna Township will host meetings for all boards and commissions over Google Meet until further notice. This free software allows anyone to join meetings by following a link, and is compatible with computers, cell phones, and other internet-capable devices. Links to upcoming meetings will be posted on the township website – TobyhannaTownshipPA.gov – and Facebook Page.

In recognition of social distancing, the township will be prohibiting public gatherings in the parks until further notice.  General use of the parks is at the individuals’ own risk.

For current information about COVID-19, please visit the Centers for Disease Control’s website https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nCoV/summary.html.

Tobyhanna Township has implemented these policies to continue to provide our residents with excellent service while being conscious of the ongoing pandemic. Thank you for your understanding as we all adjust to these extenuating circumstances.
