Friends of Clymer Library presents Holiday Gift Boutique: Opening December 5

Shop for the perfect gifts for your parents, family, teachers, and friends, as well as holiday decorations for your home! You may donate very gently used holiday decorations, collectibles, jewelry, and purses for this event.

Show Choir Performance: Thursday, December 5 @ 6 PM

Join us to see the Pocono Mountain West High School Show Choir sing and dance to holiday songs. Call the library to reserve your spot soon before they’re all gone!

Mrs. Claus Holiday Show: Sponsored by the Friends of Clymer Library: Thursday, December 19 @

6:30 pm

Become an Elf, dance with the Sugarplum Fairies and partake in the Christmas stories and Holiday songs. Sign up required. Free to attend. Open to all ages!

***Winter Hours***

Starting December 28, Clymer library will be instituting winter hours. Hours of operation will be from 10am-2pm on Saturdays. All weekday hours will remain the same.

Adults and teens, we have volunteer opportunities! Please stop in and inquire. Computer literacy needed.

Clymer is seeking interested individuals to join our Board of Trustees! Please call the library and ask to speak to our Director.

Upcoming Board of Trustees Meeting

Upcoming board meeting: December 18 at 6:00 PM. Board meetings are open to the public in the community room. You are cordially invited to join us and your input is both encouraged and valued. Minutes of the Board meetings are available at the circulation desk in the library.

Craft Circle—Thu 12/5, 12, 19, 26 @ 10:30 AM

Open to all ages—join us for fiber crafts including rug making, knitting, crocheting, and more! Bring your own project or start something new. Come learn or teach a new skill.

PMWHS Show Choir—Thu 12/5 @ 6 PM

Friend’s First Friday Film Festival: The Gods Must be Crazy—Fri 12/6 @ 1 PM

The tribal people in a remote African desert live a happy life until a Coca-Cola bottle falls from a plane. The villagers fight over the strange object until their tribal leader decides to bring the bottle back to the ‘gods’ to restore peace. Registration is required. Refreshments will be served. Watch the film and stay for the discussion.

Happy Bookers Book Club—Mon 12/16 @ 1 PM

This month we will read The Great Unexpected by Dan Mooney. For more information, contact Melissa at (570) 646-0826.

B.F.F. (Books for Friends)—Tue 12/17 @ 6:30 PM

December’s book will be Summer of ’69 by Erin Hilderbrand. Call the library or email Melissa at mlopez@clymerlibray.org to sign up. January’s selection will be Lilac Girls by Martha Hall Kelly.

Teens (grades 7-12):

T.A.B. Meeting—Tue 12/17 @ 6:30 PM

Join the new Teen Action Board (formerly Teen Advisory Board) and make a difference in your library community. Earn volunteer credits, work on leadership skills, communication, problem solving, and creative expression. TAB is open to students in grades 7-12.

Children (ages 11 and under):

Drop-in Christmas  Crafting—Mon 12/2, 9, 16 @ 10:30 AM

Simple craft kits and supplies will be available in the children’s area for children and adult caregivers to do in the library. Adult caregiver supervision is required.

LEGO® STEM—Tue 12/3 @ 4:30 PM

Kids, have fun exercising your imagination! LEGO® bricks provided. Adult caregiver attendance required for children under 10. Drop-in program. Ages 4-11.

Book Babies—Thu 12/5, 12, 19, 26 @ 10:30 AM

Miss Love invites caregivers, infants, and toddlers to join her for a half hour of songs, stories, rhymes, and felt board activities. Adult caregiver participation is required. Ages 0-6.

Tiny Explorers STEM—Thu 12/5, 12, 19, 26 @ 11:15 AM

Sensory beads, kinetic sand, play dough, magnetic letters/numbers, sidewalk chalk, threading pieces, shape sorters, and finger painting are some of the activities children can choose to play. Problem solving, self-control, exploring emotions, and building resiliency are just a few of the benefits of this hour-long program. Drop-in program.

“Welcome the Elf” Party—Sat 12/7 @ 1 PM

Chippey the Elf is coming back to Clymer Library! Help us welcome our favorite elf-on-the-shelf. Make a decoration for Chippey’s tree (and one for you), decorate cookies, and watched the classic movie Elf. Just remember not to touch Chippey or he will return to the North Pole until next year! Pre-registration and adult caregiver supervision are required.

Chanukah Storytime—Wed 12/11 @ 10:30 AM

Learn about Chanukah at Clymer Library. Members of the Congregation B’nai Harim will tell the story of Chanukah, and teach Chanukah games. All ages welcome!

Family (all ages):

Family Crafters—Tue 12/10 @ 6:00 PM

Bring the entire family to Clymer Library to create a holiday craft that can be kept or gifted. Pre-registration and adult caregiver supervision are required.

Family STEM: Science Lab—Sat 12/21 @ 1 PM

Come for an hour of fun exploring candy cane science activities. All materials are provided. Adult caregiver participation are required.
