“Party in the Park” arrives in the Poconos

Tobyhanna Township has announced a “Party in the Park,” emphasizing Community Day 2018 on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at historic Blanche D. Price Park in Pocono Pines.

Highlighting the family-friendly event will be the Pocono Children’s Bounce Zone, Arts and Craft Vendor Row, the Pocono Beer Garden, and a wide variety of ethnic and contemporary food vendors.

Party in the Park is free of charge and will be open at 2:00PM and conclude with a spectacular fireworks display at dusk. Parking is free, and the Highway Safety Network will conduct a Car Seat Check at the event.

Regionally popular musical groups Long Time Comin’ and Who Knows will perform at the outdoor concert stage throughout the event, while local service and nonprofit organizations offer educational information and demonstrations.

Everyone wearing the official Party in the Park t-shirt will be entered for a drawing of event prizes including Kalahari Water Park Passes, tickets to Pocono Raceway, and tickets to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders.

T-shirts, sponsored by Panther Waste, are available at the Township Government Center with a donation of dog and cat food or personal care items, such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, bath soap, feminine products, paper towels, tissues, and dish soap. All donations benefit the Top of the Mountain Ecumenical Food Pantry.

“The Party in the Park is a celebration of our community that allows us to come together and enjoy the park while benefiting the TOMEC Food Pantry,” said Tobyhanna Township Community Engagement Coordinator Julia Heilakka.

Limited vendor space remains for the Party in the Park, and interested parties can contact Heilakka at 570-355-2224.
